Description ADULT Has mainly blue-gray upperparts, with white "spectacles." Dark wings have whitish fringes to inner flight feathers and two white wing bars. Underparts are whitish, with gray wash on flanks. JUVENILE Similar, but with hint of yellow wash on flanks.
Dimensions Length: 5-6" (13-15 cm)
Habitat Locally common summer visitor (mainly May-Sep) to Rocky Mountain forests. Winters mainly in Mexico.
Observation Tips Fairly easy to find in suitable habitats.

Voice Song is very similar to Cassin's; call is similar to Blue-headed.
Discussion Robust vireo. Most individuals are grayer and stouter-billed than other similar species. Breeding range is also a pointer. Sexes are similar.
