Description Adult male has mostly gray upperparts with dark cap, and paler gray underparts, but with a bright rose-pink throat patch. Female has similar black cap, but upperparts are warm brown and underparts are yellow-buff, without the throat patch.

Range Texas, Southwest
Discussion Widespread Central American species, with toehold in North America; present May-Sep in riverside woodland in southern Arizona and southern Texas.
