Description Spiny. Greenish/brown-tan. Dorsolateral stripe with spots down midline. Belly has pink patch, thighs have indentation. Unmarked belly on females. 59 scales on uppersides.
Dimensions 9.5-14cm. (3 3/4-5 1/2")
Breeding Breeds throughout year. Eggs laid at the base of a tree or in rotting logs. 1-5 eggs in a clutch.
Habitat Arid areas to 7,500' (2,200m) above sea level.
Range Texas to Mexico.
Discussion Diurnal. Forages among leaf litter for insects. Main diet includes beetles, grasshoppers and bugs.
