Description Blueish/pinkish, black edged scales on back. Blackish collar, white on rear edge. Blue throat and sides on belly on males, less pattern on females.
Dimensions 12.7-22.2cm. (5-8 3/4")
Subspecies Yellow Spiny Lizard.
Breeding Live young, 3-13 per litter, born in June.
Habitat Woodland and rocky outcrops between 5,000-10,000' (1,500-3,000m)
Range Arizona to Mexico.
Discussion Diurnal. Less wary than other species of lizard. Often watched for long periods of time while it basks on rocks. Hides in crevices and tree stumps.
