Description Variable colors - gray, green to brown. Dark round markings on dorsum. Males have a large vocal sac.
Dimensions 5-7cm. (2-2 3/4")
Voice Loud barking sound. Given near water.
Breeding March-August. Gathered at permanent water source.
Habitat Summer months in treetops. Winter it burrows underground amongst moist vegetation.
Range Virginia to Florida Coastal Plain. also along Gulf states- Kentucky & Tennessee.
Discussion Burrows in sand in hot weather Nocturnal. Excellent as a pet.
