Description Green on top, greyish on legs and underside. Large toe pads.
Dimensions 2.9-5.2cm. (1 1/8-2 1/8")
Subspecies Western - smaller, whitish/yellow spot beneath eye. Illinois through Louisiana into Florida.
Eastern - Lager, yellow/green spot under eye. Georgia, South Carolina.
Voice Bird-like whistle. Males call when 1-1.5m (3-5') above water.
Breeding March-September.
Habitat Temperate forests, shrub-dominated wetlands, and swamps.
Range Illinois through sw. Florida panhandle. Also Georgia/south Carolina border.
Discussion Only seen at nighttime in choruses. Hides in treetops during the day. Nocturnal.
