Track When animal is resting on hindlegs, base of tail forms drag marks between complete hindprints, 1 1/2–2" (38–50 mm) long; when moving slowly, smaller round foreprints made between or just in front of hindprints; when making long jumps, only fronts of hindfeet touch ground, leaving small round prints 1" (25 mm) across.
Sign Two general types of burrows; one a vertical shaft with no apron of dirt, trails leading away, or dirt near the entrance; the other wider than high, slanting, and with a well-worn trail leading from the mouth.
