Description Large pocket mouse with whitish spinelike stiff hairs on rump. Differs from San Diego and Spiny Pocket Mouse in larger size, longer ears (average 13mm), and relatively longer tail. Uses arid grassland and desert and coastal scrub communities as well as montane chaparral (yellow area on map).
