Description Evergreen tree with a slender trunk and narrow crown. Assumes a shrubby growth form in exposed sites. Bark dark brown to gray, furrowed, fibrous, 3 cm. thick (1.2 in.) splitting into long strands. Shoots occasionally reaching 10 mm. (.4 in.) Ovulate cones up to 25 mm. long (1.0 in.) Staminate cones 3-4 mm. long (.12 - .1 in.).
