Description Long body & tail. Black with yellow/red/brown dorsal band. 16-20 costal grooves.

Dimensions 6.8-12cm. (2 3/4-4 3/4")

Breeding No aqautic larval stage.

Habitat Freshwater springs and riparian areas, interior chaparral and woodlands, and temperate coniferous forests.

Range California particularly Sierra Nevada, Mariposa & Kern Counties.

Discussion Close to the ancestral form that bore the other slender Salamander species.
