deer hoofprints

Occasionaly I like to go outside to look in my field to look for animals. It snowed recently and I noticed prints in the snow that looked like an oversized bird of some sort or a deer. Can you tell me what deer, moose, and some large bird prints are? Thank you for your time!

Identifying the tracks in snow or soft soil is a great way to get familiar with your local fauna, often you discover the presence of species you wouldn’t detect otherwise. Our mammal guides now include a track and sign page for each species. Combine this and our Local Guide feature, and you can easily create a Zip Guide to Mammal Tracks of the species found in your region.
