Like all jays, the gray jays love sunflower seeds, in any form...cracked or in the shell. They also like nuts of any kind. Gray jays will nest in early spring, sometimes so early that there is still snow on the ground. They build a bulky nest 4 to 30 feet off the ground, and lay 3 to 4 pale gray or pale green, lightly spotted or peppered eggs. Incubation is by the female for 16 to 18 days before hatching. GHH
