rainbow trout skin

Is it true that your hands must me wet before touching a rainbow trout or the oil on your will kill the trout ? please send me an email to let me know thanks

Wildlife Expert - Ken Burton

Yes and no. Your hands should be wet before handling live fish (if you wish not to harm them) but it's not because the oil kills them per se; it's to avoid damaging the mucous film that covers their bodies.
