Will House Sparrows Raise Other Eggs/Hatchlings?

The family of house sparrows that I have been watching has one juvenile that doesn't fit the bunch. He is almost black, much bigger than the parents, and his bill is long, pointy, and very yellow. Would house sparrows have raised an orphaned egg/hatchling? Could another bird have laid an egg in their nest?

The nestling you have described is a brown-headed cowbird chick. Its mother laid her egg in the nest of the sparrows, and left it for the sparrows to raise. Cowbirds do not build nests. They lay their eggs in the nests of other birds.
