Chocolate lilies, Fritillaria affinis, can be propagated by seed but they are usually purchased as bulbs. I see that you are from Houston and I can tell you that these plants will not appreciate anything at all about your climate or soil. Perhaps you want to try them as houseplants? I doubt that will work. But please, if you are thinking of planting them in your garden, even if you had similar conditions to the Pacific Northwest, resist the temptation to bring plants from other parts of the country and plant them in your garden. Instead, choose from the many beautiful native plants that are available to you. End of lecture. :-)
