Thrasher feeding baby Robin

I rehabilitate birds for the local chapter and I have a fledgling robin that I put into a large cage with a Thrasher who was nearing release time. The thrasher has begun to feed the begging robin. Since the thrasher is usually secretive and a loner, I was wondering if you had heard of this type of "friendship" before?

Yes, it is not uncommon for an adult bird to "adopt" a youngster of a different species.
