Q: Do Florida red bellied turtles start out with red on their shells, or is this something they acquire once they are older? I have seen a Florida red-bellied turtle, or what I thought was one, which had the appropriate markings on it's head (green with yellow stripes, an arrow on the top) and I believe it's male, because of the claws on the front feet. read more
